Browns OT Dawand Jones (ankle) will miss rest of season

Cleveland Browns offensive tackle Dawand Jones is done for the season after fracturing his left ankle during Sunday’s 35-14 loss to the New Orleans Saints.

Jones was injured in the second quarter when linemate Wyatt Teller rolled into his left leg. Jones was fitted with an air cast before being carted off.

Jones made his third start at left tackle Sunday and eighth overall this season. He got the nod at right tackle five times earlier in the campaign.

“I thought he was doing some decent things over there, as we talk about transitioning to that side,” Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said afterward. “Disappointed for any guy that’s out for the season when they have a season-ending injury. He knew it right away and so I feel badly for him.”

Germain Ifedi replaced Jones at left tackle.

Jones, 23, was a fourth-round pick out of Ohio State in 2023. He has started 17 of 21 games played for Cleveland.

Jones started seven games in 2023 in place of injured star right tackle Jack Conklin. He sustained a sprained knee in December and missed the final five games.
